Beyond the finish line: Supporting recovery and reintegration in the workplace

About this session

Major health challenges don’t simply end when physical treatment stops. For managers and teams, supporting a colleague through recovery and back into the workplace requires ongoing clear communication, adaptable leadership and empathy.

Join endurance athlete, adventurer and advocate Sally Orange for this humorous and uplifting conversation with SASIG’s Chief of Staff Liz Murray as, together, they explore life beyond medical recovery, demystify the return-to-work journey, and discuss how managers and colleagues can offer practical, meaningful support. Discover how turning adversity into positive action can help individuals regain confidence, rebuild routines, and thrive in their careers once again.

A safe space

The Chatham House Rule at every event and the SASIG Safe Space Charter. Members speak freely because nothing is attributed.

Since 2004, independent

More than two decades of education and networking for the industry, independent again since 2025 and back in a stronger form than ever.

Who is in the room

Security leaders from corporates, government including NCSC and the National Crime Agency, academia, law and police forces, meeting as equals.
