Understanding cyber challenges on the NHS’s 75th birthday
Wednesday 5 July 2023
In association with

We were in London celebrating 75 years since the NHS was founded by looking at how much has changed since its establishment, particularly in the field of healthcare technology.
The accumulation and proper exploitation of patient data not only hold the potential to improve patient treatment but to revolutionise the way healthcare is provisioned. The emergence of biodata such as genomics will improve drastically the way treatment is focused on the individual and the use of data science, particularly in the field of AI, will improve the ability of doctors and clinicians to identify and diagnose diseases at their earliest stage.
But the advent of innovative medical technology brings with it a shifting threat landscape and more diverse risks that our healthcare providers must mitigate. This event looks at the changing nature of technology, and its implications for our most sensitive data, the evolving attitude towards healthcare as a legitimate target of criminals and other bad actors and what needs to be done to ensure our health workers carry out their vital tasks unburdened from the minutiae of security considerations.
